Join the Society

We encourage anyone who is involved in dispensing eyewear in the state of NH to join our Society.  Supporting the Opticians Society allows us to provide quality education, lobby for legislation important to opticianry and inform the public what we do.  The NHOS is here to serve the needs of all NH opticians.  Please get involved and let us know what type of services and education you would find most valuable.

The following are important industry references:

OAA:  Your state membership includes membership in the OAA as well.  The OAA is the national organization for the advancement of opticians.

ABO-NCLE:  The American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO-NCLE) is a national, non-profit organization which administers voluntary certification examinations for dispensing opticians and contact lens technicians. Our purpose is to identify qualified eyewear providers by examination, urge growth of optical skills with continuing education, and approve continuing education programs.

NFOS:  The National Federation of Opticianry Schools (NFOS) is the national organization dedicated to the promotion of formal opticianry education offered by accredited educational institutions.
